Festival Glen Seating Chart

Parking: Parking for the Festival is $3.00. View our Directions + Parking information.

Seating: The Glen opens for the Subscriber line one hour before the play begins. Single-ticket holders (both Reserved and Groundling/General) are admitted after Subscribers have settled into their seats, usually at 45 minutes prior to curtain.

Green Chairs - Modified adirondack chairs can now be reserved in advance for single tickets ($5 charge). No more waiting in line! Premium seating in the Glen, in the Team Shakespeare Club Section, is available to donors of $300 and more.

Groundlings - Many Glen-goers prefer the "Groundlings" area. SSC provides the open space, and you bring your own blankets, cushions, or low-backed and short-legged beach chairs. Many experienced "Groundlings" arrive early to renew old acquaintances in the line, picnic in the Glen, and enjoy the atmosphere before the performance.

Chair Rental - Folding low-backed, short-legged beach chairs can be rented for $3 each at the entrance to the Glen. Chairs go quickly, so check in early!  Picnic: Guests are welcome to bring a picnic for a pre-performance meal into the Festival Glen. Coffee, other hot drinks, water, juices, soft drinks and wines, are available. Or, if you'd rather, you can purchase food for your picnic from our concessions when you arrive.

Weather: Since this is coastal California, seasoned Festival-goers will tell you to be prepared for anything! Bring sunscreen and hats for the afternoon performances and a blanket or warm jacket for the evening show. Seat cushions are recommended for those who want a little extra comfort.

Rain Policy: Shakespeare Santa Cruz has historically never had to cancel a performance in the outdoor Sinsheimer/Stanley Festival Glen due to rain. We do, however, have a policy if such a situation were to occur:

• If a performance is cancelled due to rain, patrons who have tickets to the rained-out performance may exchange their tickets within seven (7) days of the cancelled performance for another performance of the same play.

• If a performance begins while it is raining or there is a serious threat of rain and the performance continues, patrons may exchange their tickets at the Ticket Office for a different performance of the same play, through intermission of the performance in question.

• If a performance continues beyond intermission, even in the case of rain or the threat of rain, and a patron does not exchange their tickets by the end of intermission of that specific performance, no exchanges or refunds will be allowed.

Refunds requested for any performance which is cancelled due to rain must be approved by the Managing Director.

Rest Rooms and Water Fountains: These are located adjacent to the Performing Arts Theater and the new Experimental Theater.

Concessions: For your convenience and to enhance your festival experience, we sell food, beverages, gift concessions, SSC apparel and souvenir programs at our concessions. The Rosie McCann's beverage bar features fine local wines and beer.

Festival Fare: Enjoy light snacks to a gourmet meal plus mouth-watering desserts. Wine, beer, juice, soft drinks, coffee, chai and hort cocoa will also be available.

Pay Phones: A pay phone is located on the Glen side of the Ticket Office.

Patrons with Special Needs: We wish to make our activities accessible to everyone. If you have disability-related needs, please contact us (831) 459-2159. In addition, please note the following:

• Mobility-impaired patrons may be dropped off directly in front of the Performing Arts Theater or the Sinsheimer-Stanley Festival Glen; a limited number of adjacent handicapped parking places are available on a first come, first served basis.

• Large print cast sheets will be available for all of our performances.
A limited number of assistive listening devices will be available for all three plays. These devices may be reserved by calling our ticket office at (831) 459-2159.
