Who we are...
The Friends of Shakespeare Santa Cruz is a group of volunteers working and having fun in support of Santa Cruz's unique summer Shakespeare festival. Members represent the varied spectrum of the community who join together for friendship, food and their shared enthusiasm for the Festival.
Much of the year, Friends is a social group, meeting monthly (except during the summer Festival season), usually for informal potluck dinners in members' homes. Current dues are $15 per calendar year for individuals and $25 per year for couples.
...and what we do! The Friends’ biggest volunteer program is the multi-event "Festival Feeding Frenzy" which includes dinners or picnics for the cast and crew, technical rehearsal dates, "strike night" and a cast party. These are great times to meet the cast, staff and artists who make the Festival such a success!
Other volunteer opportunities for Friends include assisting at gift concessions or the beverage bar before performances and during intermissions and distributing posters and brochures throughout the community.
