UCSC PROFESSOR EMERITUS MICHAEL WARREN TO GIVE FREE TALK

ON SHAKESPEARE’S THE TEMPEST AND MUCH ADO

Santa Cruz, CA – "I shall do my best to keep my audience awake, however hot the evening." Join UCSC Professor Emeritus Michael Warren for a lively talk on this season's two Shakespeare offerings, Much Ado About Nothing and The Tempest, both to be performed in Shakespeare Santa Cruz’s 26th season in the outdoor Festival Glen from July 17 - September 2.

Michael retired from the UCSC Literature Department in 2001 after 33 years of teaching, 25 of which included the course Intro to Shakespeare. He has been an influential member of the SSC Company since its inception in 1982 and his official title is Textual Consultant to the Festival. SSC Managing Director Marcus Cato describes Michael as “a dynamic speaker who knows more about Shakespeare than anyone else you’ll ever meet.” Michael promises a good introduction to those who are not familiar with the plays, and a useful refresher course for those who are.
