Administrative Coordinator
Sara Wilbourne came to Santa Cruz County in 1980 fresh from an MFA at the University of Utah. In the ensuing years, she danced with Tandy Beal and Company, taught dance at Cabrillo College, was a California Arts Council Artist in Residence in four County high schools, and created, danced in and produced an untold number of independent projects. Sara was recognized for her artistic and community contributions with one of the Sentinel's first Gail Rich Awards. Currently Sara takes care of her dancing jones by performing with Therese Adams' Moving and Storage/Crash Burn and Die Dance Company. In the belief that dancers make the best administrators, Sara began a segue into arts administration, which has taken full bloom at Shakespeare Santa Cruz. Having served as Company Manager for five years, she is pleased to be passing that torch and embarking on a new path of learning every possible thing there is to know about running the Festival.
